Athlone Training Centre provides a wide spectrum of courses offering entry at different levels leading to different types and levels of qualifications. This is done through direct delivery of in-centre training programmes, apprenticeship training, and the provision of training through contracted trainers and community organisations (Community Training Centres, Department of Justice Workshops, Specialist Training Providers and Local Training Initiatives).

Intreo is a new service from the Department of Social Protection. Intreo offices are now the gateway for unemployed learners seeking training, funding for training and supports. Designed to provide a more streamlined approach, Intreo offers practical, tailored employment services and supports for jobseekers and employers alike. Jobseekers from the Longford and Westmeath area who visit Intreo may well be referred to Athlone Training Centre for further information.
