Data Protection

Organisations who keep data on individuals have to comply with data protection principles. LWETB is one such organisation.

Data protection is about your fundamental right to privacy. LWETB is obliged to keep your personal information safe and confidential. We must also give you access to your date, and the opportunity to correct data about yourself.

If you would like to make a data access request for personal information we hold about you, or if you have any other query in relation to data protection, please email up at dp@lwetb.ie

The Data Protection Commissioner is responsible for upholding the rights of individuals as set out in legislation, and enforcing the obligations upon data controllers. The Commissioner is appointed by Government and is independent in the exercise of his or her functions.  Individuals who feel their rights are being infringed can complain to the Commissioner, who will investigate the matter, and take whatever steps may be necessary to resolve it.
