Data protection is about your fundamental right to privacy. LWETB is obliged to keep your personal information safe and confidential, and to be clear and up front about how we use it, and why. We must also give you access to your data, and the opportunity to correct data about yourself.

The Data Protection Commission is responsible for upholding the rights of individuals as set out in legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation, The Commission is also responsible for enforcing the obligations of the above legislation as it applies to organisations who control people’s data.   Individuals who feel their rights are being infringed can complain to the Commission, who will investigate the matter, and take whatever steps may be necessary to resolve it.
